D.W. Fearn VT-12
Ribbon Microphone Preamp

All-Tube Mic Pre Optimized
For New and Vintage Ribbons

D.W. Fearn has introduced the 70 dB VT-12 stereo microphone preamplifier, optimized for new and vintage ribbon microphones. Based on the all-tube, now-classic VT-2 preamp, the VT-12 offers matching and gain characteristics that ensure maximum sonics from your favorite vintage or new breed of ribbon microphones. Like the VT-2, the VT-12 utilizes a fully regulated solid state power supply, and the audio circuitry features custom Jensen input and output transformers, with two military-spec 6072A tubes per channel in between.

The VT-12 makes its official debut at Booth 620, during the AES Convention in San Francisco.

The VT-12 incorporates phantom power to accommodate the new powered ribbon microphones on the market (as well as condensers). That feature can be disabled when using the vintage non-powered ribbons. Although the VT-12 offers ribbon compatibility, D.W. Fearn Designer/President Doug Fearn says that the preamp is just as capable on condensers, since it is based on the highly regarded VT-2, one of our favorite microphone preamps.
The VT-12 makes its official debut at Booth 620, during the AES Convention in San Francisco, Nov. 4-6. For more information, go to www.dwfearn.com
